I had about 12 outfit changes for the party — I was like reba Mcentire at one of her concerts.” Johnny: “This black and silver shirt is from a bou- tique on The Strand that has since closed. I like to shop local when I can.” Johnny: “My pants are from a great shop called Gentleman’s Guru and the belt is Calvin Klein.” Johnny: “These glittery slippers are from my 40th birthday that had a ruby theme. I wore ruby-colored clothing all night and had a ruby cake with red sugar crystals.” Jarrod: “My jacket is Coofandy like Johnny’s red one. We also have other colors, too. It’s a good way to stand out at an event.” Jarrod: “My shirt and pants are from my wedding suit. I’ve actually lost weight since then so I need to get the pants taken in.” Jarrod: “Our gold wedding rings from Madera bands have dust from a meteorite in them — Johnny loves anything to do with space. The engraving is a reference to when he proposed to me at Lake Travis.” Jarrod: “These Jexiva bracelets are white obsidian and onyx and they have magnets that connect the hearts. We wear them every day.” Jarrod: “We wore the socks with the whale and the astronaut on our wedding day as they represent both of our interests. Johnny loves space and I studied marine biology.” Johnny: “I love whimsy and fun with fashion. These socks have magnets so when they get close to the other pair they hold hands. They were one of the pairs we wore at our wedding.” COASTMONTHLY.COM | SepTeMber 2025 81 12000 Sportsman Rd., Galveston jeansummers55@gmail.com www.har.com/jeansummers (713) 497-6691 Jean Summers Realtor, ABR Luxury Waterfront Property 409-765-6067 www.coastalcommunityfcu.org “YourCommunity,YourCreditUnion” Memoriesarebetterwithsandytoes! YOU WEAR IT WELL ‘UNIVERSES COLLIDED’ This stylish couple believes life and fashion should be fun story by SHANNON CALDWELL | photos by JENNIFER REYNOLDS A Galveston couple’s wardrobe showcases their love of whimsy and each other. Peek inside Johnny Steverson-Aman and Jarrod Aman’s wardrobe and you’ll find plenty of bright colors and patterns along with more unusual clothing pieces. Tuxedo jackets with reversible sequins, brace- lets with connecting hearts and magnetic socks that “hold hands” are just some of the fun fashion pieces the couple likes to wear. “I’m a great believer in having fun with fashion,” Steverson-Aman said. “When I first moved to Galveston, I wore traditional business suits and now I’ve shifted to see-through shirt-and-short sets. It’s my sexy, see-through summer.” Known for his extensive shoe collection and waxed mustache, Steverson-Aman loves to dress up. Perhaps not surprising given the entrepreneur is the brains behind Galveston’s Steam Punk Festival, the Ghost Coast Festival and the new Pirate Festival launching Sept. 19-21. His Steam Punk costume includes a leather chest piece made by an Italian master craftsman that hides a dry ice machine to pump fog around him as he parades. “Since I met Johnny, I’ve become more fanciful in my dress sense,” Aman said. “I’m not at the same over-the-top fantastic level as him but I appreciate it more.” The assistant manager at Galveston’s Bone Voyage favors more casual clothes, including button-down shirts with interesting patterns and smart sneakers. He also has amassed a collection of interesting rings from Steverson-Aman’s festivals. The couple met four years ago and married last year. Their wedding rings include dust from a meteorite to represent that their “universes collided” when they met and married.
