< Previous100 COASTMONTHLY.COM | JANuArY 2022 rebecca rubio and Winston Denton III joined in marriage Nov. 27 at the historic 1859 Ashton Villa in Galveston. The couple’s parents, Jesse rubio III and Stacey Weber-rubio and Winston Denton Jr. and Dr. Elizabeth Denton, together with about 100 of the couple’s friends and family members, gathered to witness and celebrate the event. Heather Gates, of Moody Methodist Church in Galveston, officiated the wedding. rubio, a substitute teacher for Santa Fe school district, met Denton, a third-mate with Bordelon Marine, through mutual friends in 2015 at an Oktoberfest celebration just outside Ashton Villa. Both BOIs (born-on-the-island) with a strong love for the beauty and history of Galveston, rubio and Denton felt returning to Ashton Villa to celebrate their vows in the spot their story began was the perfect circle. After the celebration, the couple enjoyed a week of honeymooning on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Photos courtesy of Mariam Khalili Photography RUBIO-DENTON WEDDING PARTY PICS PICTURED: 1.
